ABOUT
THE EDWARD BRAMLEY
LAW SOCIETY
The Edward Bramley Law Society aims to enhance the studies of its members by providing academic support, extra-curricular activities and other opportunities which help members improve themselves and their employability throughout their time at Sheffield Law School - all with a sense of belonging. This is with great thanks to our many sponsors who make this all possible. We truly believe the work we do is highly beneficial to our members, whatever their career aspirations may be, and year on year we strive to increase the size of the society and it's impact.
Presidents Address
Hello and welcome to the University of Sheffield!
I am truly honoured to serve as the President of the Edward Bramley Law Society this year and I am incredibly excited to further our society's mission: to provide endless opportunities to our members, bolster their university experiences, advance their career ambitions, and offer unwavering guidance for academic success.
Edbram is multifaceted, offering a diverse range of opportunities and events for all law students and those interested in pursuing a career in law. We are committed to providing exceptional preparation for career aspirations and academic success, while also ensuring that every moment at university is enjoyable. Our rich array of activities includes career and academic events, legal workshops, competitions, sell-out social events, three winning sports teams, charity initiatives, dinners, and more! We understand the challenges of law school and pledge to support our members throughout their journey.
In a significant addition to our offerings, I am proud to introduce "A Guide to Commercial Law" and "A Guide to the Bar" which can be accessed digitally under the recourses tab of our website. These employability guides are the result of collaborative efforts between myself and our Bar Division Chair, Ewa Wawrzyńska, as well as dedicated committee members. These guides will serve as invaluable resources for navigating the intricate legal careers landscape.
To all new and returning law students, I extend a warm welcome to the Edward Bramley Law Society, a community that continually strives to provide the best possible experience for its members. As always, we welcome any feedback of events and initiatives you attend, as well as suggestions for future events you want to see from us.
Wishing you all the very best in the coming year, and I look forward to meeting many of you at our socials, academic and career events, or even just in passing!
Katelyn Groenewald, President of the Edward Bramley Law Society
